Switching between VCCS and MDB Modes

This machine supports both VCCS and MDB protocols for its payment peripherals. The Vending Machine must be set into is respective protocol, to be able to work with the adequate protocol supported by the card reader.

When the machine switches between VCCS and MDB Modes, pricing of each item will be wrong, due to conversion between JPY and local currency. There is a need to set the price of each item again. Also, the meter readings from the machine, in terms of amount collected, will also be off.

Setting up Cashless Device

Enter the Settings Menu and Set the Following:

Under 3-20 (Cashless Settings)
Card Operation - 1 (Enable MDB L2 Cashless)
CSH First - 0 Off (Ensure that the user can only select item after the “cashless” button is pressed on the machine)
Selection Timer - 180s (allows the machine to timeout selection after 180s)
Before Select - 1

This vending machine’s main interface runs on Windows. Its Windows application uses RS232 Serial to communicate to a separate MDB board, in order to give it its MDB features.
